Brazil...

We made it here safe and sound! All of our students and luggage showed up...which is a plus! It is so green here! Where we are located, Caumpo Mourao, there are farmlands as far as you can see. Each property has to keep 5% of their jungle, but we kept 60%. This means there is PLENTY of wildlife to be seen right out our windows.
Along with snakes, spiders, beautiful birds, and large mammal things that look like racoons, there is a family of monkeys that lives on our property. (Haven't seen them yet, but you bet i'll take pictures when i do....there are like 20 something. Yesiree!) I'll keep you posted!
It was a hard flight as far as being pregnant goes. Normally i can just take a sleeping pill and be out, but because i couldn't.....i slept not! It made me feel horrible.....thankfully we drove for 4 hours on a very comfy bus. I slept pretty much the whole way here.
Well...my new "week to week" day change is Monday! So i will be 13 weeks in two days!
YAY!!!!!!!

12 weeks

Sooo...i had my first ultrasound!!! It was so exciting! At first, the baby didn't move around so much; the ultrasound tech said he/she might be resting. Then all of a sudden...BOUNCE, PUNCH, KICK!!! My sweet little ninja. Gio would have been so proud of the UFC moves his child was perfecting.
I didn't know what to do so i just kind of laughed the whole time. It was so strange! There's a little life hiding away in me...i can't wait to feel the baby kick, maybe then it will feel real.
Size update: lime! Little sour guy. The tech also said that i was 2 days further than i thought which moves the EDD to March 29th. (Don't ask me how that math adds up...it originally was April 1....hmmmm....whatever March 29th it is!!!)
Gio and I leave for Brazil tonight at 8pm. I can't wait to show him the pictures! I'll post some of them.

Week 11

Tomorrow i will be eleven weeks. Yay!! One away from the ultrasound. I have been feeling pretty sick lately....which i rightfully blame on the HEAT! yeck!
My two friends here are pregnant as well. It's pretty funny....we come to work to work of course but always end up in the same room talking, relaxing, laughing about side effects, etc...
It's so encouraging to walk through such an exciting time with friends who are going through the same thing.
So...this week, my baby is the size of a big fig. Tooth buds are starting to form, bones are hardening, and he/she is moving all around (not that i can feel it yet).
There are fun surprises to tell you about a little later...fun fun fun!!!
