27 Weeks

One week away from the seventh month and third trimester!!! I am so glad he is still doing well and kicking strong.
We had a scare last week. I dehydrated myself and ended up staying the night in the hospital. Luckily, everything was fine in the end and the baby was completely unharmed. Soooo...yes, i am drinking plenty now.
There are plenty of changes taking place outside my womb as well. We are headed back to Florida. Gio is packing up our house in the Bahamas and shipping it over sometime next week. It is a hard goodbye to say the least.
BUT...God is faithful, and He works things out for good. Truth that is dependable.

Baby Update:
He weighs almost 2lbs now and measures 14.5 in from head to toe all stretched out. He likes to hiccup these days (because he is trying to practice his breathing in water). He is EXTREMELY active!! Aaaaand...i cannot remember anything else at this point.
that is the mommy update- memory loss.

what was i talking about?

25 weeks....

Six months and still feeling great...it's hard to bend over though =)
Here's the newest belly shot.
So...he's 13.5 inches long all stretched out head to toe, and he weighs about 1.5 pounds. AND he has color to his hair now...will he be blonde...will he be brunette....will he have hair at all??? These things i want to know.
My skin is very itchy and i don't really have an appetite these days, but that's all i can say negatively. I can still feel him going bonkers.... now even when standing. It's cute!
I am soooo excited for my baby shower on the 19th! YAY!!!!
Wow...i can't think of much to say....maybe he is steeling all of my creativity?!?! That kid!

23 Weeks!!!

Well...i have reached the beginning of my sixth month...can you believe it?!? The belly seems to be getting bigger every day, hopefully that's just a feeling. lol.
He is soooooo active. Many people, by now, have gotten to actually feel him kick around. You can even see him moving...it looks like belly spasms. And get this...the other night i was laying on my side with my hand under my belly, and i actually felt his little heel a few times when he kicked. It was SOOO bizarre. I couldn't stop smiling. Weird!
Sometimes it hits me more than others that there's a real baby inside of this belly (and by belly i mean Belly) =) I love those times.
Gio is getting more excited as well, now that he can actually feel him move around. He still gets a little weirded out by touching my belly. When i make him talk to it he calls him "little fat guy" ...cracks me up.
We have decided on a name: Giovanni Josiah Del Carpio. (we will call him Josiah though...it's a silent "Giovanni")
I was reading about the 8 year old king Josiah in 2 Kings and was so excited...this is our prayer for our son... (after his 30 year reign) chapter 23 verse 25 "Now before him there was no king like him, who turned to the Lord with all his heart, with all his soul, and with all his might, according to the Law of Moses; nor after him did any arise like him."

I can't wait to meet him...this will be a long 4 months to go.

Here's what BabyCenter says about this week:

How your baby's growing:

Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With his sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that he's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see him squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in his lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing him for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze him when he hears them outside the womb.

In the Beginning

Just so you have a reference....this is like 6 weeks.

17 Weeks!!!

Only a few days away from that 5 month mark! Well...by now you know: IT'S A BOY!!!
Gio got to go with me for the gender determination ultrasound. the guy took 30 minutes and blessed us with a free DVD and picture CD of the whole session. it was so awesome.
Now for the more extraordinary news...the hospital and Dr. bill from here on out will be....FREE!!! It's crazy!! Dr. Randy Fink is my new doctor's name...he is one of the best in the country which is obvious after my appointment with him. I love the guy!
So...in four weeks, i'll be back for another check up. Everything looks good as of now...strong heartbeat...fingers and toes look great...i'm gaining the appropriate weight (and some extra just in case...lol); it's all good!
So...here is my belly as of this morning.

Brazil...

We made it here safe and sound! All of our students and luggage showed up...which is a plus! It is so green here! Where we are located, Caumpo Mourao, there are farmlands as far as you can see. Each property has to keep 5% of their jungle, but we kept 60%. This means there is PLENTY of wildlife to be seen right out our windows.
Along with snakes, spiders, beautiful birds, and large mammal things that look like racoons, there is a family of monkeys that lives on our property. (Haven't seen them yet, but you bet i'll take pictures when i do....there are like 20 something. Yesiree!) I'll keep you posted!
It was a hard flight as far as being pregnant goes. Normally i can just take a sleeping pill and be out, but because i couldn't.....i slept not! It made me feel horrible.....thankfully we drove for 4 hours on a very comfy bus. I slept pretty much the whole way here.
Well...my new "week to week" day change is Monday! So i will be 13 weeks in two days!
YAY!!!!!!!

12 weeks

Sooo...i had my first ultrasound!!! It was so exciting! At first, the baby didn't move around so much; the ultrasound tech said he/she might be resting. Then all of a sudden...BOUNCE, PUNCH, KICK!!! My sweet little ninja. Gio would have been so proud of the UFC moves his child was perfecting.
I didn't know what to do so i just kind of laughed the whole time. It was so strange! There's a little life hiding away in me...i can't wait to feel the baby kick, maybe then it will feel real.
Size update: lime! Little sour guy. The tech also said that i was 2 days further than i thought which moves the EDD to March 29th. (Don't ask me how that math adds up...it originally was April 1....hmmmm....whatever March 29th it is!!!)
Gio and I leave for Brazil tonight at 8pm. I can't wait to show him the pictures! I'll post some of them.
